The CFTC, or Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is responsible for regulating the futures industry. Their Chairman, Tim Massad, says he plans to continue to have very, very strong oversight of big, key players in the market and its infrastructure.
So what sets Massad apart from his predecessor? His attention to the burdens of regulation. Massad wants to make sure that those who rely on markets to hedge commercial risk don’t suffer unintended consequences.
