U.S. markets were mixed at Thursday’s midday trading with just the Nasdaq going for gains. Earnings drove big moves in some stocks including Guess (GES). The retailer surged 16% after beating estimates by $0.06 a share. Lennar (LEN) rose after posting better-than-expected quarterly results on both the top and bottom lines. America’s second largest homebuilder also reported an 18% rise in new home orders. Despite reporting Q4 earnings in line with estimates. Williams & Sonoma (WSM) missed on the revenue side and lowered guidance. The high-end retailer was also downgraded at BB&T Capital Markets to a HOLD from BUY. Nike (NKE) traded flat ahead of its earnings release after the bell. Wall Street is expecting quarterly earnings of $0.84 a share and $7.6 billion in revenue.
