Mona Mahajan, Head of Investment Strategy at Edward Jones, shares what investors can do if they missed the market rally.
Transcript:
Caroline Woods: So ultimately as you think about between now and year end this is a market that is higher by the end of the year?
Mona Mahajan: Yes we think bouts of volatility but ultimately will end higher from here.
Caroline Woods: So for those investors who might have FOMO because they didn’t get in at the April lows and they seen the S&P 500 go up 20-plus percent, can’t time the market. But do you think that they should potentially wait for a pullback to get in, or is still time to get in now?
Mona Mahajan: I certainly think first of all we’ve had a pretty nice run. So we’ll probably get opportunities along the way this year. But for long term investors, we know this time in the market better than trying to time yourself in and out of the market. So we think a dollar cost averaging strategy would have worked great this year if you haven’t done it thus far. There’s still an opportunity to do this in the back half of the year.
