The stock market selloff of early February 2018 is barely noticeable when looking at a five year chart of stocks.
On February 5, 2018, Dow Jones Industrial Average suffered its biggest point drop in history – down almost 1,200 points.
Still, the blue chip index is still up 73% over the past five years.
This example illustrates the importance of taking a long-term view of the markets. In five years from now, investors will likely have forgotten about the recent market pullback.
