For the first time, SXSW hosted a health and medical technology exposition. Over 70 exhibitors setup booths at the JW Marriott in Austin, TX, looking to capitalize on the intersection of health and technology. Aside from apps and services, plenty of health gadgets stole the show at the expo, including one to track sleeping habits and heart rates. Even more niche gadgets, like a smart watch for senior citizens and a smart easel with a 32-inch Android powered tablet to help people with learning and motor neuron diseases were featured. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm took a quick tour and spoke to four entrepreneurs.
