Wall Street took a breather from Wednesday’s Fed-fueled rally. Stocks edged lower at Thursday’s Opening Bell. The number of people filing for unemployment benefits held steady, for the week ending March 14. Initial jobless claims rose slightly from the prior week but still came in a touch less than economists were expecting at 291,000. Apple (AAPL) starts its first day trading as a blue chip. The iPhone maker is replacing AT&T (T) and will only account for about 5% of the Dow Industrial’s weight. Yahoo (YHOO) is leaving China. The internet giant is closing its office there and cutting nearly 350 jobs. Yahoo gave control of its China operations to Alibaba (BABA) back in 2005.
