Keep an eye on shares of Nike Inc (NKE) in Friday’s trading session. The company reported mixed fiscal third quarter financial results late Thursday. For the quarter, Nike reported earnings above analysts’ estimates. However, the company missed on the top line, reporting revenue below the consensus estimate. Still, both the top and bottom line showed an improvement from a year ago. Nike, the world’s largest shoe retailer, said its better than expected third quarter profit was primarily driven by strong demand for its basketball and running shoes, as well as apparel goods. Worldwide futures orders, its key metric of demand, was up 2%. It noted that excluding currency changes, the figure rose 11%. TheStreet’s Kurumi Fukushima reports in New York.
