Carlyle Group this week said it was leading a group of sporting investors in buying PrimeSport from Clearlake Capital Partners, which has owned the company since 2013. PrimeSport is an Atlanta-based provider of premium tickets, travel packages and hospitality services to major sporting events, such as the NCAA Final Four, the Super Bowl and Daytona 500. If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford the tickets. Carlyle is partnering with firms run by an investor in Major League Baseball franchises as well as the owner of the Miami Dolphins NFL team, among other sports related assets. The deal closed last week.
