New home sales pop by 468,000 in January, despite continued bad winter weather across the United States. LPL Financial wealth manager Gene Panasenko tells TheStreet’s Joe Deaux he wasn’t surprised by the gain in sales, even though economists forecast about 400,000. Panasenko says the latest number is a positive to look at amid a raft of choppy economic data that has emerged in 2014. The January report offered a nice pop up from 427,000 new home sales in December, which had witnessed a 7% drop.
