LEAPS, or long-term equity anticipation securities, are options that have expiration dates greater than nine months. LEAPS calls are traded by some as an alternative stock strategy because they can provide more leverage than trading on margin and can offer the potential for greater returns. Of course, leverage always comes with risks, so let’s discuss a few of the tips and tidbits you need to know when trading LEAPS.
