Job growth will provide support for a growing economy for the remainder of the year despite tepid economic data in recent weeks, said Russell Price, Senior Economist for Ameriprise Financial. Price added that bad weather and an overly strong dollar dragged down growth and stocks in the first quarter. He said the housing market looks fundamentally strong heading into the spring selling season with a need for additional supply. Price said he expects the Federal Reserve to lift rates closer to the fourth quarter of 2015. Finally, he said he expects business spending to pick up in the second quarter.
