Jack Mohr, director of research for Jim Cramer’s Action Alerts PLUS charitable trust portfolio, explains why he believes Dollar General’s earnings report next week will be a key item to watch. Mohr says while it is disappointing that Dollar General lost the bid for Family Dollar, attention now comes back to the company’s earnings to gauge how it can recover from that and be productive. As part of a quickly growing industry that is benefiting from lower gas prices, Mohr reveals that he expects Dollar General to report solid earnings, but the key metric to watch will be its comparable sales. Mohr also details what he’ll be watching in another significant item next week — the first quarterly results to be released from Shake Shack.
