Stocks managed to close off their lows of the day but still a triple digit loss for the Dow. The S&P 500 also slipped into the red but the Nasdaq is positive ahead of the Fed’s announcement. It was Apple (AAPL) that held the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite to gains. Apple is up 1.67% on Wall Street Journal’s report it will launch a web TV service. Crude oil slipped for a sixth straight session to close at $43.46 a barrel. There were big gainers in the session including American Airlines (AAL). Shares soared on news it will replace Allergan (AGN) in the S&P 500 index. MGM Resorts took home more than 10% on an activist investor pushing for a REIT conversion. Black Diamond (BDE) skyrocketed more than 36% after saying it would explore strategic options for its brands.
