Steven DeLuca, publisher of DEPARTURES, a lifestyle magazine available only to holders of American Express’ Platinum cardholders, meets with TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino at the NASDAQ MarketSite to review trends in super-prime real estate, including NYC’s first $100 million dollar apartment. Other hot markets include L.A. and Miami, but the new sleeper hot spot is Seattle. DeLuca says the U.S. is viewed as a safe haven for the world’s wealthiest to invest in real estate. In addition, he feels the Golden Age of philanthropy is on the horizon, particularly with the younger wealthy set like Mark Zuckerburg, 2013’s top philanthropist.
