The Rothschild Larch Lane Alternatives Fund has trounced the S&P 500 by shorting energy commodities and taking advantage of the strong dollar, said Charles Korchinski, Director of Liquid Strategies at Larch Lane. Korchinski added that his mutual fund of funds has also benefited from long Europe and Japan strategies. He said the fund utilizes early stage fund managers as well as established fund managers and sees value in both. Furthermore, he said liquid alternatives are gaining popularity because the retail investor is looking for more advanced, hedged products for reasonable fees and funds like Larch Lane’s are meeting the demand.
