When it comes to the restaurant delivery business: ‘Cold is gold,’ said Matthew Maloney, CEO of GrubHub. Maloney added that GrubHub continues to see strong growth outside the weather related boost with 2014 revenues of $254 million, a 49% year-over-year increase from 2013. He said active diners grew by 47% to 5.03 million aided by its mobile applications. GrubHub just expanded into delivery with the acquisition of DiningIn and Restaurants on the Run to expand its reach. Finally, Maloney said the market is extremely fragmented and under penetrated: 95 percent of orders are still placed via paper menu and phone.
