After a strong start to the week, stocks were under pressure at Tuesday’s opening bell. Wall Street’s focus is now on the Federal Reserve as the central bank begins its two-day meeting. New home construction plunged 17% in February to its lowest level in a year. Harsh winter weather is being blamed for the Commerce Department’s data. Apple (AAPL) may be launching a web-based TV service in September. The Wall Street Journal says the iPhone maker’s new service would cost about $30 to $40 a month.
