Mediware, a software provider catering to the health care industry, has retained investment bank William Blair for a sale of the company. The Deal’s health care reporter Laura Cooper reported the news exclusively on Thursday. The Lenexa, KS-based company is projected to have Ebitda of more than $50 million and could attract a multiple between 8 to 9 times Ebitda. One banker noted that due to the hot health care technology space, it is possible Mediware could garner more than 10 times. The health care technology company was taken private by private equity firm Thoma Bravo in November 2012. At the time the deal came with a price tag of nearly $200 million, representing about 9 times trailing Ebitda, or $22 per share. William Blair acted as Mediware’s financial adviser on the take-private.
