David Letterman’s ‘Late Show’ will come to an end with the final show airing on May 20, 2015 after 30 years with CBS. The Late Show with David Letterman made its debut back in 1993. The show quickly became a staple of the network’s late night landscape with Letterman delivering an hour of innovative comedy. As host of both CBS Late Night and the Late Show, in 2013 Letterman surpassed Johnny Carson as the longest running late-night talk show host. From his first appearance, Letterman has redefined the talk-show genre and has won numerous awards including the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for taking ‘one of TV’s most conventional and least inventive forms – the talk show – and infusing it with freshness and imagination.’
