European stock indices rise for the second consecutive day on Thursday, with Greek shares among the strongest gainers after a top-level meeting to solve the Greek debt crisis ends with a pledge by the two factions to “intensify” discussions. State asset sales were the talk of the City after the government sold a 15% stake in Royal Mail, and Chancellor of the Exchequer Osborne, as expected, said the UK will begin selling its near-80% holding in Royal Bank of Scotland. In the luxury goods sector, Mulberry rises after posting results, while LVMH gains on a broker upgrade.
