Jul.16 — Voice assistants like Siri and Alexa are at the center of a sweeping antitrust probe by the European Union amid the concerns the data from these devices could be used to keep a tight grip on the industry. This probe comes after the EU’s top court invalidated the data transfer pact known as the EU-US Privacy Shield which is sending thousands companies scrambling to figure out how they’ll be able to move data across the Atlantic.
