AAA projects 41.9 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home this Independence Day, the most since 2007 and a 0.7 percent increase from the 41.6 million people who traveled last year. The Independence Day holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, July 1 to Sunday, July 5. Rising income, driven by a strong employment market, is prompting more Americans to take a holiday trip this year as well as lower gas prices. The Securities and Exchange Commission is in talks with JP Morgan Chase (JPM) about settling a probe into product steering. The probe centers on whether the bank inappropriately advised its private-banking clients toward its own investment products. A bidding war could be erupting for Integrated Silicon Solution (ISSI). Uphill Investment of China has raised its offer to $23.00 a share. The Uphill offer beats that of Cypress Semiconductor, which was last $22.25.
