Ticket sales at movie theaters could put June within range of being the biggest month ever at the box office. The films are tracking to deliver a combined $150 million in ticket sales this weekend — and the month still has five days to go. $950 million has been collected so far in June, according to film research firm Rentrak. The record for the strongest month was set in July 2011 when “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” ruled the cineplex. It’s especially impressive since the summer movie season got off to a slow start with ‘Tomorrowland”and “Spy” seeing disappointing sales. Nike (NKE) shares could hit an all time high today. The sports apparel maker beat earnings expectations for the 8th straight quarter. Nike sold more high margin shoes. Micron Technology (MU) shares are slumping as the computer chip maker missed on both the top and bottom lines. It blames sluggish sales of computers and lower prices.
