There’s a key vote in Germany today. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is urging lawmakers to vote in favor of a third bailout package for Greece. She says the cash-strapped country faces chaos without a deal. Also in Athens, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipris is widely expected to reshuffle his cabinet, following a rebellion within his party over the vote to approve austerity measures demanded for new bailout talks. General Electric (GE) earnings and revenue both beat expectations. GE also has reportedly offered concessions in an attempt to counter EU regulatory concerns over its $13.5 billion bid for France’s Alstom Power Unit. Schlumberger (SLB) thinks the plunge in oil rig county is near the bottom. The oil services company beat on profit expectations but missed on sales.
