IBM (IBM) will report earnings for the company’s second quarter of 2015 after the market close on Monday, July 20th. According to Reuters, earnings estimates for Big Blue come to $3.78 per share on sales of $20.9 billion compared to $4.32 per share on sales of $24.4 billion in the same period last year. However analysts are not very optimistic for IBM’s short term earnings outlook as the company is in a transitional period and is becoming heavily focused on its cloud computing division. In a note from Cantor Fitzgerald last week, Brian White and Isabel Zhu wrote, ‘we view 2015 as another transition year for IBM, and similar to the past few quarters, we expect the message of change through strategic imperatives to be voiced.’ Shares of IBM are up 7.5% since the beginning of the year. An earnings call will be held at 4:30 ET after the numbers are released.
