James Bond certainly has expensive taste, and it seems not many costs were spared in the making of the new action film ‘Spectre’. The 24th Bond movie has one of the biggest price tags of all time, according to leaked emails from the Sony (SONY) pictures hack. The vast $350 million budget is a step up from ‘Skyfall’, which was estimated to cost around $200 million. The leaked emails also reveal that the Bond film producers made some hefty visual and storyline concessions to the Mexican government, earning them a much needed $20million worth of rebates and tax incentives. James Bond secured himself a pay rise, with Daniel Craig cutting a $48 million deal to star in ‘Spectre’ and the following installment. The substantial paycheck makes him the highest paid Bond star of all time, dwarfing his predecessors. To cover some of the hefty costs, the film is packed with product placement deals. Eight bespoke Aston Martins and a new model Jaguar will be appearing in the movie. The epic car chase shut down the streets of Rome for nighttime filming. Belvedere (BVD) vodka paid an undisclosed amount to be Bond’s Martini of choice and Heineken (HEIO) is back for more, following their $28M deal to be featured in Skyfall. Coca-Cola (KO), Ford (F), Omega and Sony also jumped on the James Bond band wagon for the previous installment, paying big bucks to be associated with the world’s most famous spy.
