U.S. stocks opened mixed Thursday as markets try to rebound from a reversal in Wednesday’s trading. Volatility continues for stocks and may continue until the Federal Reserve meeting next week, according to traders. Seagate Technology (STX) says it will cut 2% of its global workforce due to weak demand for its data storage products. Mondelez International (MDLZ) affirmed its 2015 outlook while detailing progress its made with cost cuts and growth plans. Lululemon (LULU) saw profit and sales come in ahead of expectations and it raised its 2015 outlook. J.C. Penney (JCP) is testing its first fast fashion line to compete with H&M and Zara. The department store is piloting its own private label brand ‘Belle + Sky’, a line of trendy women’s wear. California Governor Jerry Brown vetoed drone legislation that was meant to protect people from peeping toms. Brown says it would have exposed hobby users of drones to burdensome litigation.
