Little has changed since the first GOP debate: Donald Trump is still on top. Wall Street is looking for a candidate who will be good for business. ‘Trump, clearly would be good for business,’ said Don Peebles, CEO of the Peebles Corporation. ‘Jeb Bush would be good for business, he has a proven history of governmental history as Gov. of the state of Florida and also in the private sector.’ But Trump raised eye brows in recent weeks, saying he wants higher taxes for the rich and singling out hedge fund managers who he says pay little in taxes. ‘These are money managers that are investing other people’s money and they’re being taxed as capital gains, which isn’t right,’ said David Nelson, chief strategist at Belpointe Asset Management. ‘I think Trump is absolutely right.’ Experts also say candidates need to reveal how they’ll make life easier for small business owners, who created two-thirds of the jobs added to the private sector last year, according to the Small Business Administration.
