Hyundai has announced a recall of almost half a million cars in the U.S. due to a manufacturing issue that could cause engine failure. The company is recalling 470,000 Sonata Sedans produced between 2011 and 2012 with a 2 or 2.4 liter gasoline engine. At the time the model was Hyundai’s best selling car in the U.S. The auto maker is also recalling 100,000 Accent small cars due to the possibility of brake light failure.To date, Hyundai said there have been no reported crashes or injuries caused by the malfunctions. The car maker will be notifying customers and replacing the faulty parts at no extra cost. On Thursday Hyundai’s Vice Chairman bought 3.16 million shares in the motor company in order to protect the company’s stock price.
