GM’s most advanced car ever will hit dealer showrooms at the end of October and if early reviews are any indication, the 2016 Chevy Volt will likely be a big hit not just among electric hybrid enthusiasts, but also car buyers who are looking for a reasonably-priced automobile that’s electric and also looks sporty enough to turn heads on the street. Despite the Volt’s eco-friendly image, the second generation car is also gratifying to drive. While the Volt is not a pure electric vehicle (Chevy’s all-electric Bolt will likely be unveiled in 2016) most drivers will rarely drive it for distances long enough to drain the battery. The Volt’s all-electric range is 53 miles. GM said 41 miles is the average distance driven in a single day. Which means, if a driver charges the car each night when they get home, they’d never have to refill their tank. For those long weekend road trips, the total driving range is 420 miles.
