Hacienda Heights detectives are investigating the murder of beloved Bishop David O’Connell found dead from a gunshot wound in his own home. Detectives are labeling the death a homicide and believe it was targeted. The 69-year-old faith leader was known as Los Angeles’ peacemaker, spending most of his four decades of priesthood ministering to South Los Angeles communities afflicted with poverty and gang violence.
