Ford (F) posted impressive sales growth in February, driven by strong SUV sales, while General Motors’ (GM) sales dropped. Ford’s sales grew 20 percent year-over-year to 217,192 vehicles. General Motors posted a 1.5 percent decline in February sales, while analysts were expecting a 5.1 percent increase. Total sales stood at 227,825 units and the decline was attributed to lower sales to rental car companies. Nissan (NSANY) reported a 10.5 percent jump in sales to 130,911 vehicles, helped by Pathfinder SUV and Maxima sales. Toyota (TM) said it sold 189,852 cars in February, representing a 5.2 percent year-over-year increase, thanks to strength in light truck sales. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm has details from Wall Street.
