Shares of Twitter were down slightly Friday despite denying rumors that it will be shutting down in 2017 — which is why you might have seen the hashtag “Save Twitter” trending. Twitter called the rumors ‘groundless.’ A spokesperson telling Reuters that “there is absolutely no truth to the claims whatsoever.” Twitter was a holding in Jim Cramer’s Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, until this morning when it exited its position. In a note to subscribers this morning, AAP portfolio managers Jim Cramer and Jack Mohr said that while they understand the appeal for Twitter as a takeover candidate, from everything they’ve seen or heard Twitter remains in a state of disarray right now.
