Voters will have the final say but U.S. financial markets first reaction seem to indicate that Democrat Hillary Clinton won the first debate in the presidential race. The Mexican peso was among the markets that gained. Investors seem to prefer Clinton to Trump as she is more of known commodity and they can place their bets easier. The candidates offered vastly different views on taxes with Donald Trump calling for cuts to spur hiring and Clinton vowing to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporation. Oil prices are slipping this morning, as much as 1%. The move comes after Iran played down expectations for an oil production deal at this week’s OPEC meeting. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk will discuss plans today for colonizing Mars. In the speech titled ‘Making Humans a Multi-planetary Species’, Musk is expected to describe the large rocker that will one day take humans to speech.
