Trendy West Coast coffee chain Dutch Bros Coffee is expanding its footprint in Southern California — opening its drive-thru lanes in a new Los Angeles-area location.

The South Bay city of Lomita announced Wednesday that a new franchise outpost of the quickly-growing java chain would soon welcome fans — but stopped short of giving an actual opening date.

“Located at the southeast corner of the Pacific Coast Highway and Cypress Street intersection, the company will construct a coffee shop with a three-lane drive-thru, one drive-thru window and one walk-up window,” the city wrote in an Instagram post.

The city says Dutch Bros has worked with them to address concerns over traffic safety, impact and management of the construction site. The brand often draws long lines of cars to its takeout windows — much like another regional favorite, In-N-Out Burger.

Nearby residents rejoiced at the news.

“I’m so glad I don’t have to drive to OC anymore,” one commenter wrote under the city of Lomita’s post.

“Omg finally a close location,” said another.

“SHUT UP!!! NEAR MY WORK,” a third wrote.

Known for their customizable, often giant-sized specialty drinks, Dutch Bros was founded by brothers Travis and Dane Boersma in 1992 in Oregon. The chain is now headquartered in Tempe, Arizona.

Dutch Bros opened its first Los Angeles location just steps from the USC campus on S. Figueroa St., back in November 2025.

“I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to bring Dutch Bros Coffee to Los Angeles,” regional operator Brady Benner said in a press release at the time.

“Bringing this location to the Exposition Park and the greater Los Angeles community means we will have a space to bring love and light to each person we meet every day. We can’t wait to serve you L.A.”

The company went public in 2021 and has expanded to over 1,200 locations nationwide. California is the brand’s biggest market, with 255 locations across the state. In addition to their drive-thru physical locations, the company also sells retail coffee.
