On Friday, October 7, the September jobs report is released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Economists expect nonfarm payrolls to rise by 168,000, an improvement from the 151,000 jobs created in August. The unemployment rate is expected to hold steady at 4.9%. Wages, which will also be released in Friday’s report, are expected to rise 0.3% month-over-month.
