I installed an experimental, unofficial DLSS 5 Neural Rendering mod in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Cyberpunk 2077 before NVIDIA’s official release. Codex helped me get the workflow running in about eight minutes—and at its best, the result makes game characters and lighting look almost like live-action footage. This is not NVIDIA’s finished DLSS 5 implementation. It is an early community experiment built around a Neural Rendering DLL discovered in the NBA 2K27 early-access files and connected to games through RenoDX/ReShade tooling. It can look incredible, but I also found shimmering, ghosting, reflection inconsistencies and a major performance cost. Since I recorded this, modders have also patched the experimental DLL to run on RTX 40-series GPUs.
