Hyatt’s( ) boutique hotel chain Andaz is opening new properties this year, in an effort to double the portfolio by the end of 2017. The chain seeks to offer travelers a unique experience, according to Jonathan Frolich, vice president for global brands at Andaz. The hotels aim to celebrate the local culture of the cities in which they are located, by displaying art created by local artists. Frolich says Andaz is very important brand for Hyatt. Andaz recently opened a property in Ottawa and plans three additional openings by the end of the year.
