The search for 19-year-old Matthew Morey, who went missing in the swollen Mississinewa River Wednesday, has been suspended due to dangerous conditions. His mother, Angie Morey, spoke with NBC News’ Maggie Vespa as authorities say the current is too dangerous for even trained rescuers to launch boats. An Indiana DNR officer told NBC News the search will resume “as soon as conditions are safe.” Indiana remains under a statewide disaster emergency following historic flooding.
