As the holiday shopping season begins, Amazon is hiring 120,000 temporary workers. That’s a 20% increase from last year. Some of these roles will eventually become permanent positions. In 2015, over 14,000 temporary jobs were turned into full-time ones. Rival retailers such as Macy’s and Target have no plans to boost seasonal hiring.
