It has been one year since the Palisades and Eaton fires killed 31 people and destroyed more than 16,000 structures. Many residents’ efforts to rebuild have been held up by insurance, rising costs and red tape. NBC News’ Liz Kreutz reconnected with families who lost their homes in the fires to see how they are doing one year later.
