A Wichita, KS grandfather saw the series “The Cost of Denial” and contacted NBC News about the denials he received for surgery to alleviate his back pain. Shortly after NBC News called his insurer to ask about the case, coverage for the surgery was approved. NBC News’ Anne Thompson reports.
