Nvidia and OpenAI agreed to a $100 billion deal.
Transcript:
Still a week left in September, but chip stocks are having a strong month.
The Nvidia-OpenAI $100 billion deal is one of the largest AI infrastructure partnerships to date, sending ripples across the semiconductor sector. It’s part of a broader wave of Big Tech investments and deals in AI, highlighting the rush to scale infrastructure and adoption.
Investors are watching which companies could benefit as AI adoption grows. Chipmakers like Micron, Lam Research, ASML, Intel, and Taiwan Semiconductor are up 20–40 plus percent this month. Oracle is also climbing nearly 40%, reflecting excitement around the hardware and systems powering the AI revolution.
Some worry about an AI bubble, but Wedbush’s Dan Ives calls this a “1996 Moment for the Tech World and NOT a 1999 Moment,” emphasizing that AI-driven growth is transformational rather than short-term hype.
That’ll do it for your daily briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I’m Caroline Woods with TheStreet.
