Samsung’s tri-fold phone could be headed to the U.S.

Apple’s iPhone Air hits shelves Friday – the company’s thinnest iPhone yet.
But rivals are working on flashier tricks. CNN says Samsung may launch a tri-fold phone in the U.S. later this year – a first for American consumers.That would put it ahead of Apple, which reportedly won’t roll out a foldable device until 2026.
Samsung’s strategy is notable: in the past it limited experimental models like the Galaxy Z Fold SE to markets such as South Korea and China. Huawei already offers a tri-fold overseas, but not in the U.S.
Samsung is also prepping a slimmer Galaxy S Edge for next year, as phone makers look to spark excitement in a market where smartphones have become staples.
