Uber is being accused of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Uber is facing fresh legal trouble.
The Justice Department just filed a lawsuit accusing the ride-hailing giant of discriminating against passengers with disabilities.
The DOJ says Uber and its drivers have refused rides to people with service animals or wheelchairs, and even hit them with cleaning fees and cancellation charges.
The government also alleges drivers have insulted or demeaned disabled passengers.
Uber strongly denies the claims, pointing to its zero-tolerance policy and new features for riders with service animals.
But this isn’t the first time. Back in 2021, Uber paid over $2 million in a DOJ settlement tied to similar allegations.
Now, the federal government is seeking damages, fines, and a jury trial.
And with 1 in 4 U.S. adults living with a disability, this case could have huge implications – for Uber, and for accessibility across the gig economy.
