Nothing beats a good night’s sleep, especially if investments are working for you while counting z-z-z’s.
“I would love to learn to make money in my sleep,” ex-NBA star Lamar Odom told TheStreet on Wednesday, Oct. 3, before he was inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
Odom, who dazzled the courts playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat and also led a notable off-the-court life, said he was thinking about life after basketball and what that might mean. His life is “just open,” he said. “I’ve never really had the opportunity to have time on my own without that consistent basketball schedule. I’m learning to manage my time,” which involves “a lot of focus, a little bit of prayer, and commitment.”
With that time, Odom says he’ll look into investing in stocks, especially companies like Apple Inc. AAPL and Microsoft Inc. MSFT , and other stocks in the tech sector. Also, he’s ready to learn a lot about bitcoin.
Odom said one of his proudest business ventures is with his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, with whom he developed a unisex fragrance called Unbreakable.
To spot a good business opportunity, Odom said, “I try to use my common sense and my heart, and blend the two.”
