Former New York City deputy mayor Daniel Doctoroff, who served under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, was at the center of the city’s rebirth after the tragic September 11th attacks.
“It was really positioning New York City and its economy for the 21st century,” Doctoroff said in an interview with TheStreet. “We came into office, not only had the World Trade Center been tragically destroyed, but if you step beyond that, the city was really stuck in land use patterns that were more appropriate for the 1950s.”
Doctoroff is currently the CEO of Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company and the author of the new book Greater Than Ever: New York’s Big Comeback.
