3,200 employees have hit the picket lines over a contract dispute.

Boeing is dealing with yet another employee strike. 3,200 members of its defense unit hit the picket lines, marking the second strike Boeing has had to deal with in less than a year.
The workers, all of whom are members of the International Association of Machinists, voted to strike after the union and Boeing were unable to reach an agreement on a new contract. This marks the first time the union has gone on strike in nearly 30 years.
Boeing’s defense unit brought in roughly 30% of the company’s revenue in the first half of 2025.
But CEO Kelly Ortberg isn’t hitting the panic button, saying, “I wouldn’t worry too much about the implications of the strike. We’ll manage our way through that.”
In 2024, over 30,000 Boeing workers who build commercial aircrafts went on strike for nearly two months.
