CAROLINE WOODS: Coca-Cola is rolling out a new version of its iconic soda – and it comes with the Donald Trump seal of approval. After the President urged the company to replace high-fructose corn syrup, Coke announced it will launch a cane sugar version of its classic drink.
Cane sugar isn’t new to Coca-Cola – it’s already used in other versions of the soda. But those attached to Coke’s current recipe shouldn’t worry. This new version will not be replacing the one made with corn syrup.
The company said the move is about giving consumers more choice and complementing its existing lineup.
The announcement came alongside its second-quarter earnings report. Coca Cola beat Wall Street expectations for both earnings and revenue. It also reiterated its 2025 forecast, projecting 5% to 6% organic sales growth.
