More than one million Ford vehicles have been affected.

Ford has announced it’s recalling more than one million vehicles in the U.S.
The reason for the recall is due to a software issue with the rearview cameras of some models, which could increase the risk of a crash.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue may cause cameras to freeze, delay, or not display images. More than 10 different Ford models are affected by the defective software.
Ford says letters notifying owners of the issue will be sent out by June 16, with a second letter detailing a solution being sent later this year. Dealers are expected to be able to update the software through an over-the-air update.
Ford has already faced two other U.S. recalls this year, both related to rearview camera issues.
Those recalls affected roughly 289,000 vehicles. And in November of 2024 the carmaker agreed to pay a $165 million civil penalty after the NHTSA found Ford didn’t recall some vehicles with defective cameras in a timely manner.
